Summer savory, a member of the mint family, is an annual plant that grows 12 to 18 inches high, with white to pale pink flowers, and soft, grayish leaves, approximately one inch in length. The entire plant is highly aromatic, and it is a popular choice in herb gardens. Summer savory is cultivated throughout France, Great Britain, the Mediterranean, Spain, Canada and the United States.
